Philippine Lotto 6/58

The jackpot prize tonight for Ultra Lotto 6/58 is a whopping P1 billion, the largest in Philippine lotto history so far! 



If I win this lotto draw, it might be hard for others to believe since I am asking for billion$! They might think the government just made me win! 




I was one of those who actually lobbied, approved, or decided for Lotto in the government before, as well as for PAGCOR casinos. That is, I already spent money to lobby for Philippine casinos. The senators just followed the plans, being already indebted to me. Plus, those who were implementing it wanted to be casino franchisees or operators of course. But again, I was not included in the final implementations of these lotto and casino operations, no money from them reach my hands. They're my former military allies who wanted to handle PAGCOR. 

We studied the mathematics of casino games, and provided the standards or rules of the games. We were the ones who lobbied in the 1970s for legalization of casinos. 




I remember Solaire and Resorts World casinos were our plans before. PAGCOR City was my project too, now being implemented. I think my business allies here were Japanese or Koreans. That is, there is supposed to be money now for this project, from other already successful businesses or Asian "movies". 




We decided, however, against rampant drugs and too much gambling or too many casino outlets during Martial Law. Not good for the Nation. Our casino buildings in Manila area were demolished one by one; I reasoned they were structurally weak anyway. The Cubao area was filled with casinos too, and I had casinos and hotels in East Avenue near Quezon City Circle. These hotel casinos became government buildings. I remember some NASA people were asking for our NASA spacecraft designs while I was in our hotel casinos in Manila. 






I made the movie "Casino" starring Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, Joe Pesci. As well as the movie "Scarface" starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer. 





And the movie "Carlito's Way" starring Al Pacino and Sean Penn, wherein, I recall, we still had Star Trek USS Enterprise (NX-class) ships hovering above. 








Windows 10 October 2018 Update

Windows 10 is wreaking havoc again with its recent October 2018 Update that Microsoft "paused" and apologized for. 



I issued warnings for Windows 9, so Microsoft followed me and skipped Windows 9. These OSes are from late 1970s to early 80s, developed by us. It's about Windows 9's AI or programming. If the same AI is used for Windows 10, unfixed, then it is likely many Home devices will be destroyed, omg! I am actually afraid for home users!! 

Updates are perfect vehicles where the already fixed bugs are purposely installed again by malicious programmers, hackers or pirates.

I am asking billion$$ from Microsoft actually. I don't have Windows 10 yet. And my Windows 7 computer crashed while using Gmail (wouldn't power on anymore); the following day the US government shut down, in January 2018. Why, because I said I made the modern US?

Singer/Composer

Why did I forget I was singer/composer? Because I no longer spoke English. They didn't want me to speak in English anymore. I was already Tagalog. I was even already speaking the MasbateƱo dialect. But in high school, first year, first weeks, I spoke in English, but wasn't good in Tagalog anymore. I was very quick, however, in relearning Tagalog according to my high school friends. 

Also, in grade school, I was no longer an addict or influenced into drugs by them. Without the drugs, you're in a different mood than before and you forget some parts of yourself. Plus they deliberately were intruding on my brain with drugs and chemicals to make me forget. I reckon simple anesthesia loosens the connections in the brain, making you forget (this was done *en masse* to forget the ravages of war). 

I wasn't addict on my own; but they would influence me or make me join them so they can receive or partake of my music and movies money, when money was there on special occasions but in smaller petty amounts already. (Where are my million$ from Star Wars 4-6 in the 1980s, for example?) The corruption line was too long, I guess. Why should it be a bagful of cash? Why not open up a bank account for me, and deposit the money there? So that some corrupt people can partake of the money or that a heavily armed group can easily steal the money from me or us. (Well, marijuana is now becoming legal in many countries. But here in the Philippines, we don't like it.) 


Again, I knew I co-own the music companies before I was composing and composing songs prolifically, creating the singers and bands in the process. 

I can't remember too I was top Scientist, but when they would come to me, I would remember. They would consult me for Science matters but they would retain the money. 

I at one time, while walking on the street, blurted out in English that we've got to finish Windows 3.11! 

But Windows 95 was already finished too when we were children. It's for me and my batch, i decided. In college, just after sales of Windows 95, Bill Gates went to me. But his companions used psy-war and threats, limiting me. Maybe it was the start of antitrust trial against Microsoft. 

I said later, that to give Bill Gates the benefit of the doubt, he was probably there to give me back my MS ownership! But Win95 sales were already too high that time, he and some members of his group were probably reluctant. Even before, he was the one being ousted at Microsoft. He was fearful of losing his MS stocks, like Steve Jobs being ousted from Apple. 

I now remember that I would still sing impromptu and compose songs in that same present house of ours in Masbate City. I sing the song "live" when I'm composing. I needed to have a sound recorder as I don't write the songs immediately. Some TV commercials were also done in that house.

Microsoft Duo

Microsoft, Bill Gates

Even before, I wouldn't give away my Microsoft ownership. Who would? 

Do I need to recall Steve (Jobs) to remember that I was there, at the dawn of the personal computing industry? COMDEX 101. 1981. COMDEX 101 1981.

I had someone with me in developing MSDOS. It was the two of us who created DOS. I was Microsoft--we, were Microsoft, MSDOS/Windows. (Bill Gates was MTS-altair.)

I think it was just a "tour," to see what a compiler looks like. I stayed big time. And created MSDOS!

I didn't even want Bill Gates to have a larger share of Microsoft ownership, if we include him. If we include him at all...

He was practically imploring me, for us to start our own company, and not sell it to IBM. Actually, an IBM representative was purportedly called up there. But it happened just in the accounting department of a certain university; they had "computers." Eventually, the news, the word was out.

(If every deal at the time was accepted or fulfilled at all, then Microsoft is still under my name, actually. And the monitor/LCD tech (?). Which were, of course, only "ours.")

IBM was deeply rooted in Unix. We all know that. I was actually contemplating of naming our OS either "PC-DOS" or "MS-DOS."

The new MSDOS interrupts speeded all things up. The two added interrups had a software equivalent at first, which made apps run faster. So we wanted it in hardware BIOS.

Bill Gates wanted the OS called MTS-DOS.
So I asked, what is MTS? 
"It's actually MITS," he replied. "Too long," I said.
"How about MTS-DOS?" he insisted again.

But I decided it to be simply "MSDOS".

And Bill was irked by the term "disk" because he said it was an operating system for "computers," not disks. He wanted to call it a "time-sharing system" immediately, not a "Disk Operating System." I didn't care. "DOS" was perfect for us because it was the two of us (me and her) who created Microsoft and MS-DOS. "DOS." Two. (Our system already had a built-in interrupt handler for GUI, and with the new BIOS/MSDOS interrupts, it would be blazing fast.)

We had an Operating Sytem and a language and compiler creation toolkit of our own already. We can create compilers in a snap. An OS and a compiler, two products of our own.

We even made Unix faster, and fixed some bugs. Even created ext3, and ext4 file system, but eventually decided "our" ext4 (or ext5?) to be for future Windows.

So i forgot about these from grade school... and yet "no one reminded me." Of course... 

In grade school, high school, and college, it's like you were "new" to computers, and enthralled by the stories of these software entrepreneurs, who made it big in the industry...

Reduced Length LZ (RLLZ)

Let me share here my one way to output LZ77 codes, which may improve LZ77/LZSS or LZW.

LZ77:

LZ77 coding transmits <offset, length> codes. Many times in the compression process, the same matching string is encoded with an <offset> and the same <length> code. We can avoid transmitting the <length> code for many strings as well as not outputting a bit to identify a literal (as in LZSS) by the following: 

Instead, read the whole input or block and gather duplicated or similar strings and encode <the whole string> (e.g., <length of the string (n>=2)> plus the actual string of characters) only this one time. The match lengths are exactly the same for the repeat strings so it is transmitted only one time, in defining the first string. And then <the number of "next" occurrences of the same matching strings (i.e., how many following offset codes after first offset)> and their succeeding occurrences in the input block by transmitting only the said <offset> codes. (Or you can use an escape code to end the offset codes, perhaps BLOCK_SIZE-1.) Do this for all other duplicated strings. This is actually a "Reduced Length LZ (RLLZ)". 

The literals are outputted last *without bit flags* since they fall into the block buffers not covered or "not activated" by encoded strings. So just one array of literals can be outputted maybe at the end of the file, or, since block-based coding is more practical for shorter offset codes, at the end of the appropriately-sized block of <offsets>.

During decoding, the strings are written first in the output or write buffer using the offsets, and the literals "fill in" the unwritten positions or "holes" in the write buffer. The output buffer is then written to actual file. This makes very compact LZ. (Note that there is no "history" or "window" buffer and hence no "sliding-window" function.)

Here is simple illustration for RLLZ, to be complete:

Read/Get literals. The literals are then inserted into the holes. Whatever the size of those holes randomly positioned in the write buffer, they are filled by the literals.

The strings and literals are nicely in their correct order or sequences. Write to actual file.

No need to output bit flags for literals or the number of following consecutive literals in some algorithms. 

Then the completely filled write buffer is written to file. 

That is, e.g. after gathering all distinct repeated strings on a block, 

1) no transmission of <length> code for the next occurrences of the same string (but, in the simplest way, you have to output the number of succeeding strings); 

2) transmitting the literals last (in the output buffer) means no need to transmit *bit flags* for literals (and matches). This is the novel or surprising idea here: deferred literals output; 

(3) if there are no calculated or expected compression for some repeats strings, then simply treat them as just "literals" or "incompressible" strings, which don't expand at all due to deferred literals transmission. Or you can entropy encode the literals too. If they somehow expand due to their probability distributions in their expected compression, then don't perform actual entropy encoding. Just really output them as literals. Thus, RLLZ has the capability to be "recursive" while there are expected compression in repeat strings. No, maybe if you rearrange the output block.

I have similar ideas as "rep-codes" in 2000s. My compression ideas are from the late 90s when I became interested again in data compression. 

The ones I call here "holes" they call "gaps", even in LZW. But the idea of deferring transmission of literals for an output buffer avoids bit flags for both literals and matches which is still used in some explanations of ROLZ. Other algorithms still need to output the number of following literals, or literal_length. Deferred, meaning this is not an "online" algorithm. RLLZ is how you do basic deduplication, I presume. Deduplication of strings in a file or block. 


Random Data

I had an algorithm before (2006-2007) that compresses always at 90% ratio, recursive. Though well thought out to be decodable, I think I had not written a decoder, or maybe yes. The problem with me is that when I have a breakthrough compression algorithm, with full decoder, I think danger from the data storage industry and the Feds, so I delete the compressors and decoders. I even at one time physically destroyed a hard disk for that matter. Not good for Science and Research indeed. 

That was before I decided to write an introductory book on data compression algorithms, finished by 2005 or 2006, but I already forgot the maybe breakthrough algorithms. 

I think John G. Cleary believes in compression of random data--or he was just playing me. 

When I was a child genius, I already co-authored and edited books on advanced subjects, using American or international pseudonyms; books on Calculus, Modern Telecommunications, Artificial Intelligence, etc. 

ROLZ is an "easy to arrive at" idea. As well as Huffman, LZ77/LZW, and PPP/LZP. 

What is hard is arithmetic coding. And Asymmetric Numeral System (ANS) but I was thinking before of compression via complex numbers. And during Star Trek time when we were child geniuses, another used the Towers of Hanoi algorithm for compression! Data compression was easy then we can use any math principle or theorem for compression, and AI. I had an arithmetic coding program before that was converted easily to Huffman coding, showing that they're related. 

Yes, data compression is addictive. To see that your program fully compresses and decompresses to the original file is exhilarating, your adrenaline rushing, especially if you continue to beat your current compression ratio. 

But the compression bug no longer bites me. I stopped coding in 2010 or 2011. 

I rediscovered the ideas behind the PAQ algorithm and BWT in the late 1990s, and was able to solve BWT in the end.

Attempts on universal compression or compression of random data mostly degenerate to LZ77/LZ78 (i.e. enumeration of repeated sequences into number codes), and symbol ranking (or MTF, circular/cyclic buffers). 

Previously, they thought arithmetic coding is the end of it. Now there is ANS. 

Maybe the next compression algorithm will be so simple after all. I still have 2-3 "probably breakthrough" algorithms in mind. 


ZIP File Compression

My memories of the Cold War in the Philippines are a little clearer now. 

I had too much Power during those time; I was the child genius/Wizard deciding for the whole world. 

I started up and planned many what would be billion-dollar tech companies. You know it is too huge a money they made me forget; they stole the companies from me. 

They made me forget by "threatening" to kill me often (fear of death represses memories), "tiring" me, exhausting me by making me produce and produce for them, and the lastly brutal way, they made me forget by "intruding" on my brain with drugs or chemicals, which they did again when I was in grade school. Yes, I have been in worse conditions such as this, torture. It's like killing you indeed if you forget yourself. (I reckon just simple anesthesia "loosens" the connections in the brain and will make you forget.) 

I made the Hollywood movies, e.g., Star Wars, Star Trek, Transformers. Music and movies are mine. They're my "documentary" movies of what I was into that time, more like my diaries. Didn't they tell you it is "inexpensive" to shoot movies in the Philippines? But they were actually "real" events, documentary movies of the Cold War under my grip from here in the Philippines. 

I wanted World Peace. I made the modern US, modern governments, modern Nations. 

When I was remembering this, in College again, I satisfied myself with my memories of my big hand in Computer Science too, and dreamed of data compression programs powerful than PKZIP, the result of which is "The Data Compression Guide" (with no compressors here beating ZIP compression by the way). I think Bill Gates went to me again in College, and Larry Page. 




We decided on the ZIP file format too. It was a cousin of mine who was programming PKZIP. It was like he's the real Phil Katz, or he's co-developer. To my knowledge, I largely programmed ARJ, using others' suggested ideas. I was attached to the Russians that time probably. So my mindset that time was that I can't beat PKZIP compression. Also to my knowledge I programmed GZIP too; (you see it's a "G"). But Jean-loup Gailly was good, I knew. (Now the best file compressors and archivers can be found in Matt Mahoney's "Large Text Compression Benchmark" and encode.su.) 

Note: I have already beaten ZIP this 2000-2008 without the use of arithmetic coding. But I forgot the algorithms. I probably deleted the file compressors again. My bad. I surmise if Google and Microsoft were hacking me that time, they might had seen the said file compressors. Facebook?? 

I still have maybe 2-3 algorithms in my mind for a breakthrough compression algorithm. :-)
